The Brunswick Surfin' Turfs lost consecutive games for the first time this summer after falling to the Tarboro River Bandits 8-1 and dropping a pair of 12-4 finishes against the Hope Mills Rock Fish and Sandhills Bogeys.

Versus Tarboro (7/2)

In a preview of a potential playoff matchup, Brunswick battled most of the night against Tarboro starter Layton Dupree who went five innings and gave up one run to the RBI leader in the southeastern division Kaden Swaim (Cleveland CC). The River Bandits broke the game open in the seventh as Cam Greenway hit a grand slam to make it 7-1. Tarboro tacked on one more run and earned their twentieth win.

Versus Hope Mills (7/3)

The Rockfish used a seven-run third inning to propel themselves in their fourth contest of the year against Brunswick. The Surfin' Turfs managed to load the bases in the sixth and score two runs from a Chance Jennings (Winthrop University) double and a Will Lafferty (Marshall University) SAC fly to make it 8-4. Alex Simmons (USC Beaufort) tossed three innings of one-run ball in an effort out of the bullpen. Hope Mills would still scratch across three more runs later on with the help of a Steven Shaffer solo homer in the eighth to cement their first win in three games as the visitors against Brunswick.

Versus Sandhills (7/6)

The Bogeys strung together eight hits in a row in the second inning and scored seven runs in the process. Brunswick chipped away in the second and third to make it 7-4 as Brenner Gursky (Brunswick CC) and Branton Jernigan (UNC Greensboro) collected an RBI apiece. The Bogeys responded with five more runs over the next two frames and shut the Surfin' Turfs out for the rest of the evening to even the season series at 2-2.
